Here's The Scoop!
Your morning "cuppa" doesn't have to be boring. Add a lovely rustic touch to your kitchen with this hand crafted coffee scoop made from upcycled copper and an antique silver fork. With its 2-heaping-tablespoon capacity, it is ideal for measuring out coffee beans or grounds for that perfect cup, and the classy silverplate handle adds to its one-of-a-kind character. It could easily become a treasured part of someone’s daily coffee ritual. Of course, it could also be used to measure tea, cocoa, or any dry ingredient.

I made the copper scoop portion from a piece of an old copper pipe that I cut and flared open, flattened, cut into a 2-1/2 inch circle, hand hammered into a cup shape - and Voilà! A super cool copper scoop. The handle is made from an antique silverplate (1847 Rogers Bros) fork - pattern name "Heraldic", patented 1916. A truly unique and one-of-a-kind functional work of art for your kitchen.

This would be a perfect gift for the coffee or tea lover - including yourself. Beautiful, unique, and useful - this scoop will fit right in to any decor with its elegantly handcrafted design.

  • Copper scoop: hand-hammered copper upcycled from a piece of 1-inch diameter copper pipe.
  • Handle: made from an antique fork of the "Heraldic" pattern, patent date 1916 by Rogers Bros.
  • Spoon capacity: 4 teaspoons level measure; 2 heaping tablespoons if measuring beans or ground coffee, etc.
  • Spoon scoop is 2 inches diameter, 3/4 inch deep.
  • Silver handle extends 4-3/4 inches and is joined to the copper scoop by two handmade copper rivets. Overall length, 6-1/2 inches.
  • Refer to photos showing size in relation to common kitchen objects. Props are not included in sale.
  • My signature ~ swalle ~ is on the back of the spoon. See fourth photo.
  • The ninth photo shows the raw materials before transformation!
  • The scoop comes wrapped in a custom handmade box, ready for gifting. See last photo.

Each coffee spoon is made by hand. There will be slight variances from one to another because, well, they're hand made.

Note: Tarnish happens! Upon purchase, the scoop will be polished top to bottom. Copper and silver will eventually tarnish, no matter what coating is applied. The copper will get a rich dark patina. As a copper metal worker, I embrace the look of aged copper. But, I will send a polishing cloth for you to restore the original look of shiny copper, should you so desire. Wash with a damp cloth (not in a dishwasher), restore the shine with the included polishing cloth. Or use paste polishes made for copper and silver (like Wright’s Copper Cream, etc.).

Free handmade gift box. See last photo.

I was gifted a copper and silver coffee measuring spoon. Seeing the copper my first statement was, I don’t have to wash a coffee spoon anymore. Love the copper and silver combo.

My most recent purchase from WG was 3 Copper & Silver Coffee Measuring Spoons. One for me and 1 each for 2 of my dear friends. We have a reunion yearly, and usually I gift them with a creation from WG. The response was amazing. Sue's comment "As in the past, I hesitated to open it because the packaging is so exquisite. Love it! Thank you SO much. What a lovely remembrance of four wonderful days." and from Barbara "OMG, that ladle is beautiful!!! I love it! . . . It's perfect! I can't remember being so excited about a gift! Thanks again". Of course, I love mine, this Copper and Silver ladle is stunning. I highly recommend any creation from Wild Gatherings. K
